Cleaning Your Verkada Camera Domes

There will be times where the dome cover of your camera will be dirty because of dust, debris, fingerprints, moisture, condensation, etc. As a result, the IR illuminators will reflect light to the lenses and give you an unfavorable view in night mode. You can learn more about what causes these views here.

Note: Avoid touching the clear dome cover as much as possible.

Simply touching the camera dome cover will ruin the quality of the view

The photo below will be the view of the live feed after leaving some grease and fingerprints on the camera:

This is caused by the IR illuminators reflecting their light off of the grime on the camera’s dome.

Properly cleaning the camera

Requirements: Microfiber cloth and Rubbing Alcohol

When cleaning your camera dome covers, do not apply excessive force to the cover. You may create scratches on the cover with the cloth (you will not be able to clean the scratches). You want to let the cloth clean the dome, not the force of your hands. You only need two fingers to gently and precisely wipe the dome cover.

This video will demonstrate how to properly clean our dome covers. We suggest that you wipe in a mini circular motion:

Don’t forget the inside of the cover:

Reminder: Do not touch the dome glass of the dome cover when reinstalling the cover
